Before Your Surgery

Here are some general guidelines that will help you and your family prepare for your visit to the Zanesville Surgery Center.

Bring your driver’s license, insurance card(s) with you.

You will receive specific instructions about eating and drinking the day before your procedure.

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes and slip-on shoes.

Do not wear any jewelry or make up the day of your procedure.

If you wear contact lenses, please bring your glasses and contact case with you.

Arrange for an adult driver to take you home and spend your recovery night with you. If transportation is a problem for you, your procedure may be cancelled or rescheduled to a more convenient time.

Co-payments and deductibles are collected on admission to the facility.

Visitors are limited to two persons in the restricted patient care areas. Visitor IDs will be issued during the registration process.

If you become ill, even with a minor cold, or take any new medication prior to your surgery, notify your doctor immediately.

After Your Surgery

Plan to rest for the remainder of the day, and expect to be drowsy for several hours after procedure. Have an adult with you at home for the first 24 hours to help during your recuperation. You will be given specific instructions about your recovery and discharge. A nurse will review them with you and your family members before you leave the center. Questions or concerns after arriving home can be directed to the following: 1. Any emergency situations call “911”; 2.
