Before Your Surgery

Here are some general guidelines that will help you and your family prepare for your visit to the Zanesville Surgery Center.

Bring your driver’s license, insurance card(s) and enclosed medical history form with you.

Do not eat or drink anything after midnight prior to your surgery including water, gum, etc...

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes and slip-on shoes.

Do not wear any jewelry, bring money, credit cards or any other valuables with you unless advised to do so.

Wearing contact lenses is not advised.

Arrange for someone to drive you home and spend your recovery night with you, unless otherwise instructed. If transportation is a problem for you, please let us know ahead of time and we will make special arrangements for you.

If you become ill, even with a minor cold, or take any new medication prior to your surgery, notify your doctor immediately.

After Your Surgery

Plan to rest for the remainder of the day, and expect to be drowsy for several hours after surgery. Have someone with you at home for the first 24 hours to help during your recuperation. Your doctor will give your specific instructions about your recovery, and we will review them with you and your family members before you leave the center.
